Competitive Games

Play Together

We know it can be a daunting world to get invovled in, so here is our bluffer's guide to getting started with video games.

Competitive mutliplayer games pit players against each other in the same environment. Usually this is a separate experience to the story of the main game, although some cross over with locations is common.

Players are given objectives that they must complete before the others - this can be anything from capturing a strategic point in a war game, to finishing a race first or solveing a puzzle before the others. Games that can accomodate more players often enable them to be assigned into teams. Competitve games often include the ability to play with and against computer players.

Although historically a popular mode to play locally, the advent of the internet and higher graphical demands means that developers these days provide only online multiplayer set-up, each player requiring their own console and copy of the game.
